I posted a half-assed blog a couple weeks back that promised, among other things, a belated account of my last nine-ish months in Orlando. I spent what seemed like two hours (i.e. ~six minutes) on the first three or four sentences, got bored, made a sandwich, and popped in The Goonies while I shat out the rest. I have blogged very little since then, and unless you count the Gilbert Arenas Twitterbrag I have not blogged about Florida. This is mostly because I’m back in Iowa, between jobs and living at my mom’s house, so I am trying to do things that take my mind from that fact … and so far naps have triumphed over traversing the Internet in the time I do spend at home.

But in rereading that last (first) Florida post, I realized I was just writing for the sake of writing itself, and I think that shows. So rather than make empty promises to deliver on a single topic that is really of no significance to anyone who follows me, let me just say: Orlando was amazing, I don’t want to be a television journalist (unless I am a journalist writing about television) anymore, and, barring serious illness or recycled interest in moving to NYC, I’ll start work in Chicago come fall, doing exactly what I want to be doing at a place I want to be doing it at.

I’ll start contributing to NBA Off-Season again after the Finals, because those guys are doing a fantastic job and I’d rather sit back and focus on hating the Heat like the rest of America should. They are evil like khaki cargos and Bradley Cooper. Tumblr is not evil, though, and I promise — really promise — to chime in more often and not be as yawn-inducing when I do. Toodles, y’all.
